Flights to Mongolia – Pandemic period

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has conducted a study on the operation of Mongolia’s border crossings, in particular the gradual opening of air borders. Our country operates direct flights to Japan, Germany, Korea, China, Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan, and under the current border restriction regime  it is possible to open and resume flights only on equal terms with Russia, Turkey and Kazakhstan. The three countries have not yet imposed any visa restrictions on foreigners. In other countries, only long-stay visas are allowed in the country, and short-stay visas are still suspended.

When will Mongolia receive tourists?

Mongolian government has started vaccinating citizens since March, 2021 and planning to fully vaccinate all citizens before 1st of July 2021.  Studies and preparations are being made and it is aimed at making it possible to receive foreign tourists from July 1, 2021.

Covid 19 related Requirements for tourists

There is no strict requirement for foreign tourists to be fully vaccinated, and non-immunized individuals must be tested for coronavirus infection (KOVID-19) within 72 hours of entering Mongolia.
