Latest news about Mongolia and the pandemic. Mongolian government’s policy is to receive tourists as smoothly as possible. The government will require full dose of vaccination for all tourists that traveling to Mongolia. Government will allow any tourist who tested with PCR within 3 days prior to entering Mongolia, and full dose of vaccination, except citizens of India and UK. Since COVID-19 vaccination rollout launched, 74.5 percent of the citizens in the capital city have received the first dose of the vaccine, while 70.5 percent have been fully vaccinated and 15 percent have received their third jabs – by 25th Sep, 2021. Moreover, a total of 66,207 children aged 12-15 and 26,099 children aged 16-17, and 2889 pregnant women have been fully immunized against COVID-19.

Latest news 25th September, 2021:
Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. 2,851 new cases have been detected after conducting tests nationwide within the past 24 hours, reported the Ministry of Health. More specifically, 1,683 new cases were detected in the capital city, with 1,168 cases in rural regions. As of today, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Mongolia now stands at 277,997. In the past 24 hours 5,211 patients have made recoveries.
Furthermore, 11 new COVID-19 related deaths have been reported, raising the country’s death toll to 1,046. Currently, 21,532 people are receiving hospital treatment for COVID-19 whilst 57,490 people with mild symptoms of COVID-19 are being isolated at home.
Coronavirus update – 6th June 2021
In the past 24 hours, 1,288 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
Break down – newly registered infections -6.6.2021
1,030 in Ulaanbaatar
285 new cases were registered in rural areas.
185 people were healed and 4 died.
As of today, 5,802 people are being treated.

Currently, 50% of Mongolian citizens had the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine. Government is planning to fully vaccinate all citizens until July 1st 2021. Our tour crew and staff have fully vaccinated.
We strongly recommend travelers to Mongolia be fully vaccinated. It’s normally the case that travelers are more susceptible to picking up Covid while in transit.

COVID-19 REGULATIONS
Government working on regulations related to pandemic. Soon the rules would be published. We would update information when the Covid-19 regulations came up.
The government’s policy is to receive tourists as smoothly as possible. Mongolian government will not require vaccination from tourists. Government will allow any tourist who tested with PCR within 3 days prior to entering Mongolia.
Currently, one third of Mongolian citizens are vaccinated. Government is planning to vaccinate all citizens until 1st of July. Our tour crew and staff have fully vaccinated.
Coronavirus Mongolia update -22nd April, 2021
Mongolian borders open to vaccinated travelers from May 1st, Prime minister announces. Mongolian government authorities working on new rules that would apply for tourists during pandemic period.
Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases the Government of Mongolia has placed the country under lockdown and a “red all-out-readiness” status from 10 to 25 April. Internal travel, including within Ulaanbaatar, will be prohibited with exceptions only for emergency vehicles and funerals. Essential services such as grocery stores, pharmacies and hospitals will remain open throughout.
Precautionary measures introduced by the Mongolian authorities include:
- restrictions on public gatherings
- fines for not wearing a mask in public
- the suspension of all international commercial air and rail routes until at least 30 April 2021. You should check the status of any upcoming flights or trains into and out of Mongolia with your airline/booking agent
- the closure to foreign nationals of road crossings between Mongolia and Russia
- the closure of all borders between China and Mongolia until further notice
- the cancellation of all domestic flights
Coronavirus Mongolia, Daily update -January 2021
By 11th January, 2021: There are 1442 confirmed corona virus cases in Mongolia. There are 0 deaths and 896 recovered cases.
Country shut all borders including airways and railways until 1st July 2021. Schools and Universities are closed until further notice.
There are strict limitation in terms of transportation and movement within Mongolia.
Mongolia was the one of the first countries who closed all border gates to China. The first case of coronavirus was registered in Mongolia on March 10, 2020, which was imported from Europe.
Hotels, tourists camps and restaurants are working under government regulations.
As most of other countries international tourism shut until unknown date, however government might allow tourists to travel in Mongolia starting from July 2021. if you have booked a tour with us, then we recommend you not to cancel.
